Turtle Lake

We arrived at Turtle Lake just after the sky had opened up and the resulting deluge left the ground soaked. Fortunately, the rains stopped in time for us to take the boat ride to the land and unload. As soon as we piled our bags into the cabin, we immediately put on suits and walked through the woods to the swimming dock. The freshly bathed earth and trees smelled incredibly sweet, and the water is higher than both Ted and i have ever seen it. The dock appears to be skimming on top of the water, almost submerged. Una couldn't wait to get her feet wet, and didn't quite understand the concept of "Lake." So in she went, with assistance, for her first official dunking. Mom and dad soon followed. The lake is absolutely refreshing and invigorating and just the right temperature.

Ted took the above photos showing some details of the land. And then we had happy hour (wine and fritos) and a yummy dinner and toasted the brand new kitchen. It's lovely!

Puppets, Oh My!

Lady of the Waters (Anne's work)

Anne's work

Swallow puppets by Anne

Ted's sister, Anne, otherwise known as Aunt Belle, recently co-curated a show of various types of puppets in an industrial living space that opens up to three floors. Anne included some of her work as noted above. What a treat! The work was gorgeous and showed wonderfully in this environment. Aunt Belle is very talented.

My Friend Fanny

We are now here in Minneapolis after arriving on sunday. Someone was awfully excited to see her Nana and Grandpa Tim! Una and Fanny are becoming fast friends. They are both the same size. We will be here until wednesday, and then it's off to the lake!

Parties

Last posting from our trip to PA...these taken on saturday, our last day in town. Nanny and my dad threw us parties. It was awesome getting to see everyone!

The Bucks

Nanny's sister Carol and Pop (wearing my glasses). Again, note the lack of grey hair!

Gavin

Grandpa D and his hot rod grill.

The Lebanon County Fair

Another posting from our PA trip, a little out of order. Tuesday night at the Fair.

Tara and Una with Cousin Jeremy and his mom Jessica. When Una and saw Jeremy she went over to him and held his hand. Unfortunately, i didn't have my camera.

Asten was there. She is a horse trainer and her barn was participating in the Parade of Breeds. We saw various types of horses including a set of 6 Percheron draft horses pulling a wagon. i should have photographed that.

Asten reading the script over the loud speaker while her boss and others display arabians. She did a great job.

No, this baby is not for sale, but the lawn mowers are.
