Yellow is for lovers

I've got to say, i'm super lucky to have a husband who is not only a creative guru but so damn good at taking care of me. During the week he has been making meal after delicious meal (lots of perfectly cooked steaks and fresh veggies), and he just spent his entire weekend painting our bedroom with our own round of blessings. Painting these rooms is no small feat, especially when it comes to patching up holes and getting rid of our uninvited guests (sugar ants)...who really should be going outside now, ok my little legged "friends?" it's spring. go play.

Le Apron

I finally signed myself up for an actual real life sewing class a few weeks ago and this apron is the result of my very first project with a pattern. it's all starting to make sense. my whole life i've seen these little triangles and grain line marks and right vs. wrong sides, etc. and i get it now! it's like a whole new world!...and the apron matches my kitchen.

Currently, I'm in the midst of the next class where we are working on a robe...just in time for the quickly approaching due date of ziggy's appearance.

Sock Monkeys

Chelsea and Jesse's baby shower was also this weekend. She's due April 27th and looks fabulous! This event provided some extra creative motivation which produced my first burp clothes. Sock monkeys are freakin adorable. i couldn't resist the fabric.

The Color Purple

For all of you who have seen our numerous color swatches on the walls of our 3 bedrooms, you will be proud to know we finally selected colors this weekend. We chose purple for the baby's room, or what will someday be the baby's room, and ted did a great job at painting it on sunday...not without a few blessings though first.
