Let's Play Scrabble!

The final board. We used all but 3 letters.

My dad put down "quartzite" for 50 points, the highest earning word both ted and i have ever seen.

The results...

What a close game, but Grandpa D wins this one! I came in last, but i did have the most impressive double word score with "livid-pined".

The Georgetons

On Sunday, we had a wonderful treat! The Georgetons were in town and stopped by for a little brunch. We got to see Elia who is growing up so fast and who was asking Ted some very sophisticated questions about his art. She even took photos of his studio. Elia has wanted to be an artist since i can remember and she's been drawing since i can remember as well. And she's good! Una and Thane were also able to hang out. Thane just started walking about a month ago and is getting really good at it! It's so much fun to see these little ones changing so quickly.

It was also lovely to see Thane and Elia's parents. Thanks for coming over and spending some time with us...it's been way too long. Love you guys!

A Sunny Day and Grandpa D is On His Way!

At this very moment, Grandpa Daryl is flying up the Gorge and will be here in 45 mins! We are very excited. He was supposed to arrive yesterday, but didn't due to a snow storm in Chicago. Thank goodness he was able to stay home an extra day and not get stuck in Chi-town. Nothing against Chi-town, of course.

Happy Spring Everyone! It certainly is spring in Portland.

Park It

Back in Mid-February we had a beautiful day where we drove out to Hillsboro to look at the park that i had designed. This was really exciting for me because i had been involved with this project for the entire 2.5 years i was at MIG, and it was the first sizable project that i worked on that got built. I learned a TON! and was really pleased how things turned out, given all the challenges. There was definitely a couple things that i wished had been very different, but all in all, i was quite pleased. Basically, i spent many hours in front of a computer making drawings so that contractors would build it the way it was envisioned. My friends Kristin and Sean also played a huge role in getting the drawings done helping me figure out the details. Without that help, it would have been nearly impossible to get the project finished on time. So, if any of you out there reading this still think i'm mowing lawns or out planting flowers, i hope you get a better picture of what i do. I WISH i was out planting flowers...i miss gardening.

And Now for My Next Trick

Here's a little about my day so far. I'm having lots of fun doing things like taking everything out of the diaper bag. Oh and i have a new trick...see the video at the very end.

Mommy made me a mommy elephant to go along with the baby elephant.

Hmmm...maybe i'll give...

Isaak a call. Since i've got his card and all.

Lordy, Lordy, Look Who's 40!

Was it you or sherri who threw that officer's badge over her shoulder and onto the floor?

I've known Ms. Kathleen Krall since i was 15 years old and she was almost 17. One of my first fondest memories of Kathy was of her toilet papering the girl's locker room in high school while running around screaming, "It's my last day to be 16!" And thus began a very adventurous friendship. Happy Birthday, Krall! There have been so many crazy and wonderful memories along the way, but i cherish our friendship most of all. YOU truly rock...and i love ya tons!

On the Move

Although she's no expert, Una has started to crawl and is on the move! Actually, she's working on crawling and walking at the same time...i guess she wants to cover all her bases. Smart girl. She's getting really good at trucking around the house, if you hold her hands. Speaking of smart, she also did her first sign this weekend. She made the sign for light. It was super exciting and cute.

A Shout Out to Grandma

Una would like to tell Grandma Gloria that we hope she feels better soon. Grandma was in the hospital for 3 nights because she had a bad infection from a wound on her finger. Although, we don't know what it is, Grandma is now home after getting lots of antibiotics, and we hope she is doing well. We love you, Grandma Gloria. Now get better soon!

Hoo Hoo!

Freakin' cute outfit that just so happened to match the owl hat that Todd Herman got for Una. She's finally grown into it...too bad she figured out that she can pull them off now. Una is photographed above with one of her favorites, Alex.
