Last weekend me and the girls (Laurie, Beth, Allison and Ivy) went to Gearhart, Oregon for a girl's getaway. It was the first time i've left Una for more than 8 hours tops, so it was a big deal. It was also about time, and we had a fabulous time. We rented a darling house right in town, went for walks on the beach, slept, and consumed copious amounts of yummy food, alcohol, and trashy magazines. Beth and Allison are both getting married this year, so we had lots of wedding details to discuss. I really missed Ted and Una, but they had a great weekend as well, and it was nice to be myself, and just myself for a couple of days. Yay!
Una had an exciting day on the actual day of her birthday. We gave Una her first bike, a Skuut balance bike, and a helmet with a light. She was pretty happy about it. Then, Una and i went to the waterfront with Serra and Isaak to have a picnic and enjoy the cherry blossoms. It was a gorgeous day, and we had so much fun running around in the sun and under the flowers. Later, the most festive bunch of balloons arrived, sent from Nana and Grandpa Tim. Una's eyes were like saucers. So were mommy's.
