Today is Alex's birthday, and the birthday gods have ordered up an absolutely beautiful day for her. Although there is no way we can beat that, we do want to wish Ms. Alex an amazing birthday year filled with lots of good things on the horizon. We are lucky enough to see Alex on a regular basis, now that she has moved back from Hawaii, and she likes to arrange Una's toys in the living room in lots of fun and provocative ways after Una goes to bed for the night. The next morning is like Christmas for Una, and she shrieks with delight to find them all smiling at her. Una has also taken to hiding her toys under the sheepskin rug in the living room, like a little squirrel who is storing away nuts for the winter. We think she got this idea from Alex who was playing a hide and seek game with her and her toys. One night, Ted came home and almost tripped on the rug. He lifted it up and found a treasure trove of stuff. Una just gave him a look like, "Hey dad, don't be messin' with my stuff!"
